🔹 Grievance Process

If you have a concern, please follow the steps below to ensure a fair and timely resolution.


1. Talk with the People Involved

Start by addressing the issue directly with the individuals involved.

  • Aim for mutual understanding

  • Identify any miscommunication

  • Try to resolve the matter informally


2. Contact Your Child’s Advisor

If the issue is not resolved:

  • Reach out to your child’s advisor for support

  • Explain the situation clearly

  • Request assistance in resolving the concern


3. Submit a Formal Complaint

Still unresolved?

  • Submit a written complaint to your school, either in person or by email


4. Receive a Written Response

Within 10 school days of receiving your complaint, the school will provide a written response including:

  • Investigation findings

  • Legal conclusions

  • Planned next steps

  • Your right to appeal


5. Appeal to the District

If you are not satisfied with the school’s response:

  • You may file an appeal with the Anchorage School District
